Dialogue in the Dark is a social enterprise originated from Germany set up to facilitate social inclusion of marginalized people. Mission of Dialogue in the Dark is to bridge the gap between disadvantaged people and the rest of society, raise awareness and tolerance towards disadvantaged groups and create dignified jobs for the visually impaired. Dialogue in the Dark provides thought-provoking and perspective-changing experiential experiences in complete darkness, including executive workshops, experiential exhibition and education activities, as platform for open exchnage between sighted and visually impaired people so to reduce prejudices and stereotypes, and build up a greater sense of empathy and respect for the differently-abled people.
Dialogue in the Dark has been presented in over 30 countries and more than 160 sites in over 110 cities throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East and America since it’s opening in 1988. So far, over 6 Million visitors have experienced Dialogue in the Dark worldwide, and over 6,000 blind candidates have found employment through Dialogue in the Dark.
We now invite application for the following position:
Project Officer
Responsibilities:
1. To plan, deliver and evaluate the development and implementation of an education campaign including seminars, workshops, schools competition and educational exhibition
2. To develop, monitor and review the quality and content of the education campaign to ensure the core educational messages are effectively delivered
3. To liaise with and provide support to relevant parties, including secondary and primary schools and youth organizations
4. To plan and execute publicity and promotion of the education campaign
5. To regularly update the website of the education campaign
6. To develop and maintain database, and coordinate on research for the effectiveness of the campaign
7. To prepare regular reports about the education campaign
8. To undertake other duties that are reasonably assigned
Requirement:
1. Strong interest in social enterprise and facilitating social inclusion for the disabled
2. Working experience is preferrable. Candidiates with less experiences will also be considered with proven abilities.
3. Excellent organizational abilities with strong team spirit, high sense of responsibility and attention to details
4. Strong in interpersonal and communication skills
5. Good compand of spoken and written Chinese and English
6. Good computer knowledge in Miscrosoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Chinese word processing
7. Able to work independently with initiative and creativity
8. Enthusiastic about education and interaction with youth
9. Able to work on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays on an occasional basis
10. Immediately available preferred
Term of Appointment:
Successful candidate will be offered a permanent post with fringe benefits including annual leave and medical insurance.
